Hard Days Night

Ever been on a bus with a screaming baby? Or in the house as the baby is your own? What happened to my happy baby? She screams all day and most of the night. Ever been so close to just snapping? Don't worry ive been there I was today. Bad mum? No! Just a normal mum. Surely anyone would crack under all this? Yes? No? I don't know...

Today and yesterday have been my worst days. Ive said that before and will probably say it again. Is it my baby's fault no it isn't, she's a baby after all. She's cutting her first tooth, I remember wisdom teeth it must be painful. Cry yes I don't mind, scream and scream and scream until your red in the face and along yourself sick. I walked away from that. I couldn't deal with that. I left my baby to cry, because I got emotional. I cried as I listened to her but my body wouldn't move I needed 5 minutes. I needed peace. My head was banging my ears ringing and I felt awful.  This parenting lark isn't all it's cracked up to be. My baby was hurting I was hurting. I couldn't do anything! Despite calpol, nurofen snd anbesol she was still hurting.

So yeah I'm that woman on the bus with the screaming baby or her boob hanging out to comfort her baby. Whichever choice I choose you'll judge me for it. I leave her to cry you'll moan and if I get my boob out I'll be playing into her hands and showing myself up. I don't want to be either, I'll tell you what I want?

I want to be a good mother who comforts her child when she needs items id that means letting her feed from me then that's what I'll do.

I want to take her pain away so if I leave her crying in your presence while I'm searching for calpol help me and comfort her.

Don't judge because we're young.
Don't judge because I have aentsl health issue.
I'm a good parent.
A great parent
I don't need your opinion

Baby-Led Weaning

Just recently I have started to wean my daughter. I wanted to do baby-led weaning and just let her play with the food or eat it if she pleases. Well she's showing a great interest in my food but doesn't show any interest in picking food up and eating it. So we've decided that as we're doing baby-led weaning we'd see if she would eat some food that was smashed up a bit and she loves it. She's deffinately going to love most foods the only thing she's turned her face away from is baby rice and I don't blame her. She's currently having 2 spoon-fed meals and lunchtime is playtime with food.

Today we took it a step further by getting her highchair down and she looks like a little dot in it. Ok this is only a short post but if you refer back to silent Sunday you will see her in her highchair.

Nursery Rhyme Variants - Twinkle Twinkle

So we all know the nursery rhyme Twinkle Twinkle.
Well just recently it seems to be the only thing my 5 month old will sleep or nap too. Ive got so bored of singing the same verse over and over so I've come up with a few of my own.

twinkle twinkle mummys star
you are special yes you are
shining up above so high
lighting roads from where you lie

twinkle twinkle little star
do you know how loved you are
you are tired go to sleep
and your precious dreams do keep

Lazy Not No More

Today I got why my mum gets peed off with me and my dad leaving things lying around. I come down this morning and it's raining heavily so walking the dog has been suspended till later so in the meantime I decided to help tidy up. Well there's bottles everywhere, crisp packets, shoes all over the place, dog toys everywhere. I really do understand it now.

How can you expect one person to tidy up after her husband, daughter and granddaughter. Well my reasons are how can I expect Seren to tidy up after herself if she doesn't see me her mum tidy up myself. So I vowed no more. Since monday I've been on it. I've helped do what I can in the house and I've walked the dog twice a day.

It's not fair for one person to be doing it all every day, day in day out. That's not right. I think a lot of what needs doing is the washing! There's so many clothes to wash and dry and take up.. This is where I make a mess because I don't always put the clothes away so this is where my mess comes from. So now it's business as usual. Clothes to be put away. House work to be done... Commencing Now

1. Smile everyday
2. Love yourself
3. Find one positive a day
4. Be more relaxed

Let's see how I get on with these. Wish me luck I'll need it x

Product Review - Fluffy Duck Design - Large Bib.

Just to give you some background information here. Fluffy Duck Design is a business my friend set up.. I have more items from her coming soon which I call fluffy post. I do love my fluffy post, but right now back to business on this review.

I brought a large custom bib in a custom owl design.

My first impressions were that it's quite thick this impressed me. I have a young baby with reflux and sickness issues. Also when putting it on my baby I found its quite long which again is also gret for a baby with reflux as it will cover her clothes. Within minutes of wearing this we had a sickness and the thickness of these bibs amazed me, normally the bibs I use get soaked through, not this one. The back of this stayed dry while the front had mopped up the sickness.

The poppers on this are good to the way they have been designed is that there are 2 poppers on them. One size for the smaller sized baby and one for the bigger baby. This is such a good idea and the clasps that have been put on them stay together when fastened unlike some bibs which just carry on falling apart.

The only down side I can find to these is I can't just throw them in the washing machine due to the flannelette backing. They need to be washed separately then put in the machine for a spin. They have to be washed in cool water instead of just chucked in.

Beck I hope ive not upset you with this your work is amazing! Here's a photo of the bib I've reviewed.

Laryngomalacia

Laryngomalacia. What is it? Well it's the medical term for a floppy larynx. My daughter was born with it. It means her voice box is even more immature than a normal baby's.

The tissues of the larynx collapse into the airway when the child breathes in which is what causes the noisy breathing sound they make. It is usually present at birth and gets better as the child gets older. It can take up to the age of 2 for a child to recover from laryngomalacia. Sometimes the child can be older.

There is no precise cause of laryngomalacia. It is all unknown. All different babies will present with different symptoms for this as no baby is same. I was fobbed off by my hospital and GP that my daughter just had mucus on her chest after delivery, despite the fact she stops breathing in her sleep, can't sleep on her back and has reflux which is more common in babies with lm.

Some symptoms include:
Noisy breathing which becomes worse with agitation, crying, excitement, feeding, the position they sleep in.
Poor weight gain
Difficulty feeding
Vomiting or spitting up
Choking on food
Stops breathing
Chest/Neck retractions
Turning blue
Gastroesophageal Reflux

There's a lot of support groups for parents of children with LM. Some are on facebook and there's also a few forums. If you can't find them don't hesitate to contact me by clicking on the contact me page.

An Intro To Us.

All chucked in. Your probably sat there thinking well what's all chucked in. It's exactly what it says. It's everything about my life, some advice, some stories and whatever else I can find to chuck in there and complete it. So you what your reading about, but who's writing it?

I'm Jenny, I'm a 21 year old pro-breastfeeding, baby-led weaning, co-sleeping mama. I believe in attachment parenting to some degree. I believe that answering my babies cries straight away will always resolve in a positive outcome. So in a nutshell that's me.

Life's a rollercoaster and I'm finally ready to live it, discover who I am and help out along the way... So are you up for the ride? Because I am.
